HINDSIGHT; The Warning
April 01, 2021
I’m stalling, I’m falling, my toots to high heaven, appalling
I’d eat shit and die, if only my friends and regretfully not I
Had been birthed so distasteful and forlorn.
Yet, so lucky to have been born
To recover one’s vigor; no drinks, nothing bigger
Ear to the ground, eye to the sky
Let me be perfectly clear
Said the spider to the fly, “..away to me now pig”
“Of course I believe,” said he, “but prove I dare not.”
For whoever seeketh truth
With the devil he must roost ..and
Yarneth not he of brimstone’s fire, lest mere mortals they inquire
However gaily clad, his farts they still smelt bad
So with mirth unbecoming his message he kept drumming
Till woke he one day, “bloody hell” I heard him say
For he’d gotten off easy ..with just a warning
